Old News

23rd December 2004 - Many additions across the site including a new set of pages called Games to Own. Here you can find out what my favourite games are and why I think everyone should, at least, know about them.

13th December 2004 - I have changed my server recently to one with loads more space. So I have uploaded tons of my tracks for you all to feast on. These include every track from my first two albums, all of my Zelda remixies, miscellaneous tracks and, so far, one recent demo. Phew! Because of the extra space - expect more uploads and more content soon - so keep coming back!!!

14th Novemeber 2004 - Just uploaded some more of my tracks for you to download. they are located on a number of different servers so hopefully the links will all work properly. I plan to have some of my most recent efforts online very soon.

30th October 2004 - So High So Heavy has now been released and it has gone done very well with all that have got a copy. Check out the downloads from this album on the download page or the So High So Heavy page.

27th July 2004 - Boo! I heard back a few weeks ago that my Faithless remix hadn't reached the shortlist of the BBC OneMusic Competition and I haven't got the Internet connection to listen to the winners. Note to Self - Get Broadband - get it now!

31st May 2004 - Just got back from a great trip to Nottingham to meet up with friend and AlphaState member, Nick Jew. We played with vintage music harware and sorted out a few software questions that arisen over the months. A very enlightening weekend that has only inspired me musically. I am now currently working on many tracks and I am getting together a new album of stuff (even though So High So Heavy hasn't even been offically released yet).

17th May 2004 - Just applying the finishing touches to my remix of "Mass Destruction" by Faithless. This is of course for a competition, which is on the BBC's OneMusic Website. The closing date is the 24th of May and I am planning to have all play-testing done by Wednesday. Lets just hope that this one doesn't just get forgotten about (by the organisers) like the Zelda Competition.29th February 2004 - Big overhaul of the look and feel of the website, I hope you like the change. I have also added one of my Zelda remix competition tracks - Ode to Saria (Jungalist Mix) to the MP3 downloads.

21st January 2004 - No updates for a while I know but an email I received this morning inspired me to mention once again that there still has been no news regarding the Zelda Music Competition that I entered in June 2003. The email was from yet another entrant who received an email that said that they had been shortlisted and as yet has heard nothing. This is the second such email that I have received (thanks to this very page). Added to the people on the CVG web page for this competition that totals six people including myself, who have tried to find out the result. Action will have to be taken... Email me if you entered the competition - I would be very interested to hear from you.

On a happier note the next album SO HIGH SO HEAVY has now been finished and is undergoing playtesting by myself and a select few. Minor alterations may have to be made but apart from that - pretty much done. I am happy with it and think that as a whole it is my most accomplished work so far. Its been a long time coming and painfully slow to work on but not pushing myself has paid dividends - I think.

12th October 2003 - Still no news regarding the Zelda Music Competition - no news on winners - no news at all!!!I have 8 tracks now finished for the So High So Heavy - I am very happy with them all. Need only a couple more tracks and I will have finished (at last!). its been slow going due to time restrictions put on me by work (if only I could earn a living making music).30th June 2003 - Received an email from the Zelda Music Competition people saying that I have been shortlisted! Wahay!!! I will keep you informed of the latest news as and when I hear... 20th May 2003 - Just sent off my Zelda Music Competition Remixes to CVG. I have made four tracks, they are: 1. Main Theme (DJ LINK Mix) 2. Song of Storms (Windmill remix) 3. Ode To Saria (Jungalist mix) and finally 4. Fairy Love. Whether or not you will ever be able to hear them is probably down to whether I win or not. I personally think that they are pretty good. My EP is in the lap of the Judges now, so fingers crossed as the prizes (even the runner-up ones) are damn cool. I will give you all the news as and when I get it.9th May 2003 - Really excited. I have received details of a Zelda Music Competition with ComputerAndVideoGames.com. This is right up my street and is an excellent excuse for me to mess around with some of my favourite gaming music of all time! I love Nintendo games, especially the Zelda series (hence DJ LINK - for those of you who hadn't guessed). With a deadline of 2nd of June I had better get my skates on.

10th March 2003 - Sorry for the lack off news, I have been hard at work with a coppicing contract and have found only a little time for music. Having said that work on the next album has now reached 6 tracks completed. More soon...

12th January 2003 - i have been busy making loads of music in the last few months. I have added a direct link to downloads of some of my latest tracks on the Home page which include "Relativ" and "So High So Heavy" which are just about ready for a new album - have a listen, see what you think.

4th October 2002 - Added the "games i used to play" section of the website, still under construction. This has my personal experience with games that have directly influenced my music.

1st September 2002 - Console Yourself is now released!!! Click here to go to the Console Yourself Album page.

8th May 2002 - Added to the CONSOLE YOURSELF page full versions of the 3 AlphaState remixes that I did last year as well as a full version of "My Face" a track that i just didn't think was right for the album "An Ode To Lost Hours" - see what you think.

1st May 2002- After a week in hospital and with time to recover - I have overhauled the entire website in terms of its design - hope you like it. The time off is going to be put to good use - mixing, making tracks, playing games and generally keeping the website running well.

23 March 2002- AlphaState's debut album "BETWEEN DREAMING AND WAKING" has been released!!! and is available directly from them.

Went up to London last night to watch AlphaState play live at the Water Rats Theatre in Kings Cross. This was their album release gig and they were brilliant and went down a storm. Read more about it on the ALPHASTATE page.

1 December 2001
- The long awaited 2nd album "An Ode To Lost Hours" has been released at Peoplesound.com. It has been a busy month for me with work and with the long wait for
the new album - inevitably music has taken a back seat. But rest assured work hasn't completely stopped - I have a line up of 5 brand new tracks that I have
been slowly working away at. But for now go listen to the three free tracks from my new album on Peoplesound.com and please, please, please leave a review.
Thanks for your help.

4 November 2001 - Alex Sheers has been working on a selection of new artwork for a future album of mine. He showed me some sketches today and it will not come as any surprise
that I thought that they were brilliant!!! I hope to have some of these pictures up online in the near future - so keep checking back.

3 November 2001 - Nick and Jon came down again for a day of mixing and final recording for their much awaited album. The work is so close to being finished now, it may just needs
a few tweaks and fiddling, but both Jon and Nick both went away very pleased with how the whole thing is sounding.

27 October 2001 - New free track added to my page at Peoplesound.com. "This Unexpected Bliss" from my debut album is now available to download along with the original three
- check it out and please leave a review.
Two new tracks added to my page at www.electronicscene.com, these are "The Aftermath" and "Security of Gathered Friends", both taken from my soon to
be released album "An Ode To Lost Hours".

21 October 2001 - Extended the 'Links' page to include more of my favourite Peoplesound artists and other websites.

14 October 2001 - This weekend Jon and Nick from AlphaState have been down to my studio to continue work on their album "Between Dreaming and Waking". We sailed
through the finishing touches to many of their tracks, 13 of which are either completely or 'just' about done and we finished off by producing the very first
"Between Dreaming and Waking" Demo CD. This will need much play testing by them in the next few weeks before a final burn is produced and sent off to all
who will listen. The album is sounding 'tip-top'.

5 October 2001 - Finally posted the new artwork from my mate Alex Sheers on the Artwork page. These show a series of completely made-up screenshots of an non-existent 8-
bit computer fighting game created by Alex using Excel to create the grid squares - check it out, you may like them - I love them! You can email him at
alexsheers@freeuk.com for more information on his work.

4 October 2001 - The new album "An Ode To Lost Hours" is now complete!!! - check out the discography section for a picture of the front cover and track listing. The Artwork on
the cover is taken from some of the work done for me by Alex Sheers. I will be posting more of his work online soon.
As far as the new album goes - I just need to fill out the relevent paperwork and it should appear on Peoplesound.com in the near future - so keep checking back
for more details.
Oh yeah if you still haven't left a comment either in the guestbook on this site or on my Peoplesound.com pages then please do, as I need the feedback - nice
one, cheers.

23 September 2001 - It has been a busy few months for me at work and so my website and music creation have inevitably had to take a back seat. I still need to post up Alex Sheers
new artwork that I have had for months and that will eventually make up the front cover for my new album - in some form or other. I still need to post up new
clips from my new tracks.
But in this time I have made three new tracks for my next album!!! One of which I am very pleased with and will probably take up the last-song-slot on the album,
it is currently unamed.

18 August 2001 - The new 4 track EP is getting closer to being a new Album!!! The style is a real mix of chilled out with a couple of faster tracks. 6 tracks are just about finished.

24 July 2001 - After consultation with Nick Jew and Jon Gilbert - I have now added clips of my remixes of three of AlphaState's tracks to the downloads page.

22 July 2001 - AlphaState (Nick Jew and Jon Gilbert) have been down again for another weekend of booze and studio production of some more of their album tracks -
"Apathy", "Body Beautiful", "Scandanavia", "First Port in a Storm" and "Heartwood". The tracks are sounding great.

17 July 2001 - Album "Exploration of a Disjointed Reality" is released on Peoplesound.com.

01 July 2001 - I have been continuing my work on my latest 4 track EP. Two of the tracks have been nearly completed "Sleepless" and "An Ode To Lost Hours", both of which
are fairly chilled with Hip Hop style rhythms, nice melodies and deep basslines. CHECK OUT THE CLIPS ON THE DOWNLOADS PAGE.

25 June 2001 - Some of Alex Sheers artwork now resides on my Artwork page. This is a sequence of animation frames showing two Kung Fu Masters floating in mid air.

June 2001 - Website opens!!!
While waiting for the release of the long awaited debut album 'Exploration of a Disjointed Reality' yours truely has been working with Jon Gilbert and Nick Jew
from ALPHASTATE on remixes of some of their tracks as well as assisting with their new album - due to be released soon. Check their website
www.alphastate.org for up-to-date information on gigs, release dates and all that malarkey!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have also been working away at 4 new tracks for an EP - to be released on Peoplesound.com in the next couple of months. The type of music that may be on
this Ep will be leaning sightly towards Drum 'n' Bass but continuing the relaxed feel of some of my previous tracks. My friend Alex Sheers of Old London Town has
been whipping up some artwork for this upcoming EP. I hope to show some examples of it on this site soon. He looks to be creating a selection of heavily pixilated,
eighties computer game, Kung Fu characters - nice - I love it!
If you are interested in any of his work then you can email him at alexsheers@freeuk.com.
