You probably won't see me on BBC Two's "Dragon's Den" with any of these ideas but I do hope you, at least, find them funny or useful or even both!
The DJ Link Cable Tidy
If you are anything like me, then you will have loose cables in boxes. Some of which you access regularly (e.g. digital camera USB cable) and others that you may need at some important, once a year emergency (e.g. spare scart cable - I have to justify this stuff some how!). I have spare phono leads, optical cables, power leads etc etc which would all get tied up and difficult to identify. A few years ago I came up with "The DJ Link Cable Tidy" (which is just a joke name by the way).
What you need to do is roll the cable around your hand and stuff it into any household cardboard loo roll tube. And to make it easy to find a particular cable you can then write on the side of the tube what is it (e.g. JVC RF cable, male to female).
Cables inside the tubes can be easily found when needed, neatly stacked and stored without the 'spaghetti effect'.

Mattress Turning numbering system
To ensure even wear to a mattress it is advisable to turn it occasionally.This is a system I use in everyday life and I think everyone should use it too!.
My idea is to add a number (1 to 4) in the top right-hand side of each possible configuration and basically turn the mattress to the next number when ever you change the sheets. Just having the numbers written there acts as a reminder to do the turning!
Just make sure that the '3' is at the same end and on the othesr side to the '1' to make sure that the turn from 2 to 3 is one that swops the head end of the mattress.
Shite-a-lite
This idea is arguably not so relevant in this day and age with the very steep decline in dog poos littering the streets. Although some areas are worse than others ("it only takes one lazy dog owner"). Generally speaking dog poo littering (unless you are talking about country parks) is now classed as unacceptable antisocial behaviour.
I came up with this idea many years ago although the name is a more recent addition - thanks Chris!
This is basically a food additive for Dogs which would make their poo glow in the dark and thus help with its avoidance.
This is nothing more than a concept. But it could work for cats too.
Beer Pump Dispensing Slot Machines
Self explanatory this idea - it goes back to my student days, in student clubs, in which you couldn't get to the bar.
I think I have seen this done (a few years ago on the telly) at the tables in a trendy bar in London - but, evidently, It never took off.
