1st July 2008 - The Bee Hatchers play again! A message from my friend Nick Jew and the rest of the band -
For those of you who don't know, the Bee Hatchers are playing a reunion gig at Bush Hall in London on Saturday 19th July and we have a new CD out today. Exciting times indeed!
Any profit we make up to the gig - both from ticket sales and from the sales of CDs - will go to a charity called the Towersey Foundation, and you can see who they are here: www.towerseyfoundation.org.uk/
We would love it if you could come along to the gig and bring as many people as you can so we can raise a good cash sum for the charity. It's a beautiful venue used my many big-name bands for album launches/press shows (e.g. REM, Lily Allen, Turin Breaks, Duffy, Star Sailor, etc.). See http://www.bushhallmusic.co.uk/HTML/gigpictures1.htm.
I know several people are using the gig as their own reunion for old school/Uni friends. That works for us!
There will be a limited number of tickets on the door on the night so if you do think you might be able to come along the tickets are available online from Bush Hall: www.bushhallmusic.co.uk
Click on the link, click "Buy" beside the Bee Hatchers date and then follow the instructions... Thanks to everyone who's bought a ticket so far.
As mentioned, the new album 'Songs That Got Away' is finally available from today! You can hear snippets on the myspace site - www.myspace.com/thebeehatchers
Again, any profits for sales up to 19th July go to charity.
Hopefully see you at the gig - and we hope you enjoy the album.
THANK YOU from the Bee Hatchers and the Towersey Foundation.

28th March 2008 - Crystal Castles!!!
Bought Crystal Castles’ new album this afternoon and I am loving IT!
Got it from Play.com for the very reasonable price of £6.99 for 18 excellent tracks.
Go and buy a copy now
27 Mar 2008 - Portal!
I beat the main game of Portal (part of the Orange Box on the Xbox360) last night and I loved it. Short but sweet - there are however extra advanced versions of levels to play now that it’s been beaten - which is great.
Anyway the reason why I mention this is the end of game song - "Still Alive" - What a song!
Funny lyrics - great computer voice and Belle and Sebastian type music. The game itself is amazing and worth playing but I would go so far as to say it was also worth playing just hear this track.
You can find it all over the net (I know I looked last night!) but try YouTube for the video of the credits with the words too.
21 Mar 2008 - Night out!
A rare thing happened last night - I went out! And I had a lot of fun - and a few drinks.
Went to see Eddie Berlitz headline at the Providence in Hove last night. Had an excellent time and it was great to see them play live. They really are good fun to watch. They are really busy and playing LIVE a lot at the moment and I hope their hard work pays off. They play the Marlborough in Brighton tonight.
Saw Geisha play live there two last night and I was really impressed. They are another three piece and I just had to check their MySpace page once I got home - Great stuff
11th March 2008 - Unknown Music Please help!
Please go to my What's that tune? page where you can find full details of my latest request for info on a piece of unknown music!
I finally set up a MySpace Music page with some of my music on it - including, finally, Nick Jew's and my collaboration track "Sea Shore" from 2005. Link below:
22nd January 2008 - My GamesTM updates on hold for a few issues
For all of you who have been wondering where the review scores and other GamesTM updates are - well I am taking a break from it. I now have a 360 that is keeping me very busy. Don't worry though I will be building up my collection and will therefore definitely need to go through the issues to record the scores at some point soon. Issue 66 arrived yesterday which means this site is missing the last four issues. For those who find this little holiday of mine difficult to deal with I would definitely recommend subscribing to this magazine.
2nd November 2007 - GamesTM Emag available Issues 1 - 50!
I have just read in the latest issue of GamesTM (issue 63 - just arrived and scores update coming soon) that the first 50 issues are now available from Imagine Publishing as PDFs on an interative disc. This is called the GamesTM "Emag" and costs £19.99. This is worth mentioning as you can search by section, keyword or game - much more useful than my website - but not free obviously!. Needless-to-say my order was in as soon as I learnt of its existance. Will I sell the my paper copies of the first 50 issues? It would free up some space........Nah.
7th October 2007 - Music making!
Okay it has been a stupid amount of time since I last made any but I was on it today. I am a little rusty I have to admit. Problems with the music PC, that have been part of my lack of work, seem (touch wood) to have been fixed last night and I have busied away on Cubase and fruitloops for a number of hours. The widescreen monitor I have hasn't been used for music making before and it makes for an enhanced experience that's for sure! Here's hoping I can keep it up. You never know there may be new stuff online soon... Keeping checking back .
7th October 2007 - GamesTM Issue 62 pages updated
A real monster issue of GamesTM (Issue 62) is out. With 21 games reviewed it has taken some time to compile. The new Metroid on the Wii took a 9 along with Skate (360), Halo 3 (360), Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms and World in Conflict.
The averages were balanced out though by two 2/10 scores - a rarity (up to issue 62 there has been only 15 2/10s ever!). One of these - Two Worlds on the PC was described as "better than public execution" in the usual 'better than - worse than' boxes.

8th September 2007 - GamesTM Issue 61 In and site updated
GamesTM Issue 61 arrived just about on time to reveal only the fifth 10 they have awarded going to Bioshock on the 360. An amazing looking game and seriously adding to the financially painful reasons to buy the oversized machine.
Dewy's Adventure, a game that has interested me on the wii, got a respectable score of 7 and Worms on the DS an 8.

17th April 2007 - GamesTM Issue 56 All Stuff Updated
Issue 56 of GamesTM is now up to date and online. There were no 10s or 9s this month and an interesting 8 out of ten for Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn. In the Essentials Lists: Lost Planet makes an appearance in the 360 list and SSX Blur replaces Rayman Raving Rabbids in the Wii List. God of War 2 joins God of War in the top ten of the PS2 Essentials List and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl arrives in the PC list.

18th February 2007 - New track online for you to download
I have finally put onto the site a DEMO version of Nostalgia Targeted (New Mix) that I worked on with Nick Jew last year. This a new remix of the title music from the Amstrad CPC 464 version of Target Renegade. God I love that melody so much. With a completely new structure and an arrangement to which I added Nick Jew's amazing guitar parts this track really is something special for me.
Get it now from the Downloads Page -

26th November 2006 - Music Making Update
I have added a new track for download. Not Exactly Clean
is an unreleased track and was only recently rediscovered in a Promising Tracks folder. It is one of a number of tracks that I have now decided is finished and is the first to be posted. Keep coming back as more will be up soon
12th November 2006 - Music Making Update
Only just booted my music PC, this weekend, up after a long summer break. But, since I did, I have been busy. I have been through my Promising Tracks folder and decided that there are a few tracks that really should be recorded as finished. They need to be named and then added to the site for DOWNLOAD. I'll keep you posted.
9th August 2006 - Website and Music Making Update
Moved house last weekend - Music PC is disconnected and everything is chaos. Will be back online soon but with so much to do - it may be a while. Meanwhile keep coming back as new content is always being added to the site.
20th May 2006 - Music Making Update
Been working on a old track (from 2004). This is an attempt of mine to emulate the sounds and beats of Joy Division. Influenced, of course, by Colder. Brought the track over from Fruityloops to Cubase and spent ages trying to get the reverb right for the drums. It seemed so easy to find in Fruity. The arpeggiater in fruity is ace too and difficult to improve on - I may just have to export a Wav over and use the sample.
30th April 2006 - Music Making Update
Just got my new Music PC (not the Atari ST pictured!). Yes, a dedictaed music making machine. To me it's a super-computer compared to what I had been using. Although less powerful than my main PC it won't have any drains on system resources such as virus checking, no internet connection and no programs other than those that help me make music. I am very excited and I am looking forward to having it all installed and set up just the way I like it.
8th April 2006 - Music Making Collaboration Update
Back in February Nick Jew sent me through a load of great work he had done with Nostalgia Targeted, a track based on the main theme of Target Renegade on the Amstrad CPC 464. I have finally got round to working on it myself and over an intense two days I finished a new mix with Nick's work, new drums and newly worked out piano rolled sections for the Target Renegade melody and bassline (I can now play these live). Find the Midi file I made for the original intro music on my Video Game Music page.
Its quite a rocky track and it retains all the feeling of the original. I hope to add this and the work we have both done on SeaShoreto this site as soon as possible.
25th March 2006 - Website Update
No time for any music these days...But I am trying to fit into my busy spare time - piano lessons - with myself. My step-mum (an accomplished pianist) has been through a few things with me and a few things to work through. the biggest lessons is definitely in perseverance!
On another subject, this site is also continuing to grow - A Google Earth page, a Cute Images page and pages devoted to quality videos from YouTube are all new additions to the site.
I remembered this page the other day and couldn't believe it was so long since I posted an entry. I have done much musically but I have been trying slowly to teach myself the piano. Learning to read music at my age is painful. I have just about learnt the first part of the right hand of Romanced d' amour. The piece of music that I only just recently found the name of, read about it HERE on the recently added 'What's that Tune' page.
Loads more stuff added since I last wrote, Online Games, GamesTM stuff, include a complete database of GamesTM Review Scores. An extremely useful resource, if only for myself!
19th September 2005 - Website and Music Making Update
I have added loads of new stuff over the last few months but have overlooked my news page, so here you are: Most of the new stuff is listed in the ever expanding Nav bar on the left. It now includes a few tips regarding Windows Media Center Edition 2005, some Killer 7 style text faces and a much overdue page regarding unsigned artists and the hosting sites for their music.
All this and Nick Jew and myself have started a long distance music making collaboration which has already born fruit! The track Sea Shore (working title), is great and I am very happy with it and marks the start of great things to come. I look forward to hearing views about it once we finish and release it.
3rd June 2005 - - Website Update
Added a massive 6 Demos of mine to the DOWNLOADS page.
These are tracks that I haven't finished and haven't done anything with for ages so I thought you could all have have a listen and tell us what you think.
1st June 2005 - Website Update
Added Nick Jew's MP3s to his pages HERE Download and listen to them now!
21st May 2005 - Website Update
Added new pages. My friend Nick Jew now has information about his music on my site HERE. There will be MP3s added very soon. This is stuff that is well worth hearing - so keep checking back.
28th February 2005 - Website Update
Tracks added to Audigist, a music hosting site with some great unsigned artists on. Preview all of the tracks and hear some that have not yet been here for download. 75p of each track sold goes directly to me, and at this time any sold would be very useful - thanks! Links for the tracks on Audigist now send you directly there.
23rd February 2005 - Website Update
Sorry for the lack of news over the last two months, but as regular visitors will know there have been many regular site updates - I have totally overhauled the Alex Sheers and Rob Tizzard sections - so give these a look. The site now has new pages all over the place and loads of Flash and Java stuff so enjoy the more professional feel.
